What Does The Bible Really Say About Money?

BLOG: By Dr. Darrell T. Johnson

We often here about all the things God placed into the Garden of Eden for Adam and Eve. We read the story of creation as all things unfolded. How awesome is our God to roll out the heavens and the earth.

What we don't read about in the Garden of Eden is LACK! Not one peep, not one mention, it's simply not there. Lack never surfaced until after sin came in. Once man's sin broke open the hedge, death came in, sickness came in, and so did lack (or poverty).

Jesus, Our Savior

Jesus is our Savior. So what does He save of from? First of all, He saves us from sin (I John 1:9). But that's not all. Jesus also takes away our sickness (I Peter 2:24). But that's not all...

"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: (II Cor. 9:8)."

God uses the word "all" three times...
He uses the word "abound" twice...
He uses words like always, and every...

The verse even says "God is able..."

This tells me that God is actively involved in making sure that we always have all sufficiency in all things that we may have an abundance to meet every opportunity to help others in need.

Please tell me which part of verse eight says God wants us to be poor? In fact, verse ten says God gives us the initial seed to start planting and set the whole thing in motion. He said, as long as you keep sowing, I'll keep multiplying.

It looks like God is restoring His people back to the place we were before sin.

You now have a chance to act on His Word.
